"God's Open Door?"

A couple of weeks ago while at work a woman sat beside me while I was reading. I work as a tutor in the school system, and the woman works in another field within the same school system. She was telling me how the company she works for were hiring behavioral counselors and if I was interested to give her my resume. I told her that my tutoring contract was not up but that I would think about it.

As she spoke to me about her job I quickly became aware that it was not something I desired. Though it was in line with my "field" and what I had majored in, I did not feel impressed to pursue it.

As the weeks went by I pondered the whole opportunity and if God was opening a door or not. I felt that He may have allowed the opportunity to come my way just to see if I was wise enough to trust the Holy Spirit's impressions about not pursuing it.

Today I was surfing the Internet when I came across an article describing my very experience. Read the article (click on the title of this post) and even reread it if necessary. It talks about distinguishing opportunities that God wants us to pursue vs. opportunities He wants us to decline. It even talks about coincidences and how we shouldn't always assume that they are His Voice.
