The third reason for failing in life is giving up too easily. It is easy to accept defeat, and quit. However, it is more challenging to hang in there and press on until we get the victory.
Let's say that you are on a job search. You have been out of work for months and companies have not been responding to your applications. The few interviews you have gotten always end up with a letter saying "Thank you for your time, but we have selected another candidate. Feel free to apply again later in the future." You have tried your hardest to make a good impression, studied all the interview tips, but you seem to be going in circles. In cases such as job hunting, it is easy to become discouraged. This is because your livelihood is being directly affected. You can feel it when you barely have enough gas in your car to go down the street, or when your bills are overdue. You are hounded by bill collectors and have a dark cloud of oppression hanging over your head. You may even blame God and think that He is being unfair. "God if you really loved me You will make everything easier. Why is it so hard?" you may ask. Well it is hard. Life is hard. It is even hard when you live in a capitalistic society where the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer. However, God promises to give you grace and mercy, to overcome life challenges.

Practical Application of Biblical Principles
This is a new section that I am adding to my blog. Oftentimes, we do not see victory in our lives because we do not know how to practically apply biblical principles. We have a hard time getting what is in the Bible off of the pages and into our lives. So hopefully this new section will be of great value.

Lack of Vision
As I continue the discussion on "Why we fail in life"; I believe another reason is because of a lack of vision. Where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18). The word perish is "para" in Hebrew which means to loosen, expose, dismiss, go back, set at naught, refuse, perish.
Many of us have gotten away from simple goal setting. As children we are taught that we should set goals in order to accomplish our dreams. However, as grow into adults we abandon the practical teachings of our youth. We sometimes get stuck in a dead end job because we are trying to make ends meet. We forget about the dreams we once had for our future. So I encourage you to envision where you want to see yourself 5 years from now. What do you have to do to get there?
