When God takes His Time

"(17) When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, through that was shorter.  For God said, "If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt". (18) So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.  The Israelites went out of Egypt armed for battle."  Exodus 13: 17-18

There are times in our lives where things seem to be moving slow.  In our spirit, we know that God has made us a promise concerning an area of our life.  However, years or even decades have passed with no manifestation.

This passage of scripture let's us know that sometimes God takes us on the long route, i.e. a detour.   Our destination may be only ten minutes away.  However, we are faced with that orange sign in the road, DETOUR, which leads us through the back streets and the side roads.  When we finally reach our destination, ten minutes is now 45 minutes.

God often does this in our personal lives.  We may be headed down a particular path and all of a sudden He has taken us on a detour.  Though we may be confused and astonished by it, God is not.  God see things on the road that may be a stumbling block to us.  God may see that there are pot holes in the road, or one lane of traffic.  A tree may be about to fall.  God sees all and He knows how to keep us out of the way of danger.

So when you see your life all of a sudden veer right, seek God's face about it.  It could be His Heavenly detour.
