Standing on the Word!

Lately, I have been dealing with discouragement, so I chose one scripture to meditate on for this season. The idea came to me to program the scripture into my phone as an “event” on my calendar. I set the reminder to go off at 7:45 a.m., almost like an alarm.

This morning, I had forgotten that I set it up, so it was a pleasant surprise when the reminder went off and the scripture popped up on my phone. It has been a simple but powerful way to keep God’s Word in front of me.

I am learning that if we do not keep God’s Word inside of us and at the forefront of our minds, discouragement can easily turn into bitterness. God’s Word helps guard the heart, renew the mind, and keep us anchored when our emotions feel heavy. I will discuss the spirit of bitterness in a later post.
