Does God choose our spouses for us?

One burning questions I always had is the question of does God choose spouses for us.  Does He have a specific person for us to marry?  Do we choose mates on our own?  

I don't have the answers to this question.  It will take a lot of research into the sovereignty of God.  However, this question was just a discussion point.  Just food for thought.
