Are you at a place in your life where it seems that things are moving slowly? We are hanging on to a promise, however years or even decades have passed with no manifestation. What are we to do?
This passage of scripture let's us know that sometimes God takes us on the long route, a detour. Our destination may be only ten minutes away. However, we are faced with that orange sign in the road, DETOUR, which leads us through back streets and side roads. When we finally reach our destination, ten minutes is now 1 hour.
God often does this in our personal lives. We may be headed down a particular path and all of a sudden He has taken us on a detour. Though we may be confused and astonished by this change of events, God is not. He see things on the road that may be a stumbling block to us. He can see all of the pot holes, obstacles, and debris that will impede our progress. Our Lord knows how to keep us out of harm's way.
So do not be discouraged when God takes you on a detour. Seek His Face, and follow the lead of His Spirit. It may save your life.
