Getting a good night's sleep by eliminating Anxiety

   "When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet".   Proverbs 3:24

      Anxiety can rob us of a good night's sleep.  When we are anxious we toss and turn with our minds racing 100 mph. Sometimes our heart will beat very fast and we will wake up with night sweats.  Anxiety may even show up as a nightmare, and if we manage to get a full eight hours of sleep it is not peaceful.  

The importance of Sleep

       God does not mention sweet sleep because it sounds good.  He mentions it because sleep is vital to our health.  Our bodies repair itself while we are asleep and vital hormones are released that control functions such as fertility and metabolism.   Our brain forms new pathways which helps us store information and become more creative.

Say no to anxiety today  

       Do not allow anxiety to cause sleepless nights and poor health.  Speak the word against fear before you attempt to lay down. " Cast your cares on the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken." Psalm 55:22  Cast all of your care on the Lord at the end of the day and leave it there.  Know that God promises to sustain you.  Let Him figure out the "hard stuff" and continue to trust in Him and He will direct your paths.  He will never let the righteous be shaken.
