Has Prayer Made us Lazy?

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the Earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the Earth."  Genesis 1:26

The title of this blog may shock you, "Has Prayer Made us Lazy?"  However, I have good reason for choosing that title.   We often view prayer as something that is passive, where we pray and pray and pray and beg God to do everything for us, instead of putting feet to our prayers.

Every prayer takes an act of faith, an action step.  Let's say that you decide to open a restaurant.  Do you just sit behind the counter hoping that customers will walk through your door?  No, you must plan, advertise and offer good service.

Putting action behind our prayers is part of taking dominion of the Earth that God speaks of in Genesis.  We take dominion by moving forward in Faith, in all areas of life; the marketplace, education, government, the media etc.  We can not fold our hands and thing God will do all of the work.
